In addition to being a PhD student in the Helmuth Lab, Angela Jones (resident sea star expert), is also a teaching associate for Ocean and Coastal Processes, a course taught in Panama as a part of Northeastern’s Three Seas program. The class starts in Bocas del Toro and travels through the Panamanian Isthmus, finishing up on the Pacific Ocean side on Coibita Island. Angela was there for almost 3 weeks, teaching the graduate students about how the ocean interacts with very small, microscopic scales all the way up to the geophysical level. Here are some cool photos from Angela’s trip!
